I need help. Did I do the right thing?
I have been dating this guy for 14 months. we moved in together last december. We have a blended family I have 2 boys that live with me full time, age 3 and 5, he has a daughter that lives with us 4 days a week age 7. I have a very hard time with his daughter, she is always causing friction between the two of us. She is always telling her mother imagined things that I have to hear about the next time he picks her up. This past Sunday was the topper. His daughter ran out of the house after him and fell down in a new pair of crocs. She skinned her knees and wrist. It was my fault, although she didn’t listen to me when she flew out the door it’s my fault she fell. It led to a series of escalations to the end result him leaving on Thursday. I feel like crap, I know he’s a good guy how and should I repair this if I can. I just signed for a car for him that now I’m stuck with the loan. I’m at a complete loss I thought my prayers were answered with him. Please help please
Blended families are very difficult. If he has left over something so minuscule as this, I’m afraid to say you will probably be fighting over things like this for the rest of your lives together. If he’s going to leave every time something like this happens, you might want to ask yourself if someone without “staying power” is going to make you happy in ALL aspects, not just SOME. He has to support you and vice versa when it comes to these issues so that your kids see stability in the parenting process. As far as the loan goes, I would check with him about the arrangements of payment and if he’s not willing to pay for it, I would be looking for someone to take up payments or try and sell it. This could be harmful to your children’s emotions too. And they are the ones YOU are responsible for guiding through life.
